Cycling in the vicinity

The area around De Kuilart is a succession of majestic landscapes around the countless lakes, waterways and canals combined with a splendid wooded area enclosed by the IJsselmeer dike and studded with dozens of small and somewhat larger villages and towns - often very picturesque. You can cycle on and on: Southwest Friesland has the longest network of cycle paths per square kilometre of any place in the Netherlands, and whenever it looks as if the water will get in your way, a ferry is there to take you across.

De Kuilart's reception desk has a variety of routes and route booklets - often accompanied by a description of the special features of the little villages through which you will cycle. But you can also set out on your own route every day. During the high season, there are organised cycle tours such as the eleven-city tour, the eleven-lake tour, the tour through the woods, etc.

Have fun on your bicycle!
