Rondje Fluessen

History and location

Rondje Fluessen, is thé sailingevent for catamarans, this year it took place on Saturday the 21th of may 2011.


In 1999, the first Circle Fluessen sailed. Right from the beginning it was a success. Published annually around 30 catamarans at the start. Last year there was a strong wind. We can look back on a beautiful day for sailing. We try again this to make it a sporty and fun sailing event.

The south-west of Friesland has beautiful lakes. The lakes are relatively large and quiet. The most important are the Heegermeer and Fluessen. The lakes merge into each other. Together they have a length of over 10 km and a wide about 2 km.

The competition

The Rondje Fluessen is a sailing event for catamarans that is a returning event every year. This year it takes place on Saturday, May 21 We have chosen this date because most sailors have made their first hours on the lakes and is inbetween Pentecost and the Round of Texel.                

The Rondje Fluessen is an open class event. The start and finish are on the south western side of the Fluessen. The overall winner will receive the copper wisselbel.
The Fluessen and Heeger together is a big lake. With the Rondje Fluessen we try to maximize the day. This means that the match exist of at least two races. You should keep in mind that we are at about 10.30 hours on the water and go back around 16.00 hours on the Kuilart.

The organization and time

The Rondje Fluessen is a recreation of the event Kuilart. The organization and competition is run by Peter Sluijter. He himself sailed Hobie Tiger. 

The briefing will take place on Saturday 21 May at 10.00 am at the competition center. The event ends in the afternoon with a common dinner, the communication of results and awarding the prizes.

Registration and accommodation

To stay you can use the opportunities that the Kuilart offers. The back field is reserved for the event. Here you can make a reservation for places. You can also use a bungalow or apartment of the Kuilart. The Kuilart has a special arrangement made for the event. Registration is on Saturday May 21 between 08.00 and 09.00 hours. On Friday May 20th you can register from 18.00 to 21.00 hours at pitch 319. The barrier at the entrance to the Kuilart is open until 22.00 hours on Friday and Saturday from 08.00 hours. The costs for accommodation for its own.


After the match is a hot meal. The entry fee for the crew is including this meal. Family and friends who like to use the meal, pay € 10, - pp This additional number of persons, must be indicated on the registration form. When registering, you will receive for anyone who participates in the meal voucher and a shower currency for each crewmember.
